pentafoam xps
TM
PentaFoam™ XPS Structural Composite Panels are engineered lightweight sandwich panels designed for high stiffness, moisture resistance, and long term dimensional stability. Built with a closed cell extruded polystyrene (XPS) structural foam core and reinforced CFRTP composite skins, the panel eliminates rot, water absorption, and degradation associated with plywood and many traditional core materials.
Compared to other foam cores, XPS provides very low water uptake, consistent density, and excellent thermal insulation while maintaining reliable compressive support for laminated skins. The closed cell structure resists freeze thaw damage and prevents moisture migration through the panel, making it well suited for humid and wet service environments. The material also offers better surface bonding consistency than bead foams and improved durability compared to lower density insulation foams.
PentaFoam™ XPS panels deliver strong stiffness to weight performance, stable flatness, and repeatable manufacturing quality in large format sheet sizes. The panels are compatible with adhesive bonding, fiberglass lamination, thermoplastic skins, HPL, aluminum, and vinyl flooring systems.
Key Advantages:
-
Lightweight structural composite panel (≈0.90 lb/ft² at 40 mm thickness).
-
Waterproof & rot proof — closed cell XPS core prevents water absorption and moisture migration .
-
High compressive strength (≈0.9–1.0 MPa) provides reliable load support for laminated skins.
-
Excellent thermal insulation (R ≈ 5, K ≈ 0.029 W/m·K).
-
Consistent density closed cell structure improves bonding uniformity compared to bead foams.
-
Better moisture durability and freeze thaw resistance than PU and EPS insulation foams.
-
Large format panel widths up to 110 in (2800 mm) for OEM production.
